Creepy Manor: Decorating Indoors & Out

Outside:

*Hang a garlic strand on your front door.

*Board up the windows with cardboard painted to look like wooden boards. Attach spiders and creepy hands. Let some slime (from the toy department) drip down.

*Replace the porch light with a black light bulb.

*Make a large spider web out of white yarn (the black light will make it glow).

*If leaving a pumpkin by the door or on the walkway, light with glow sticks or a flickering flashlight (available just about anywhere during the season), please don't use candles. It is too easy for a costume to catch on fire, especially with small children.

*Suspend sheets from trees to act as ghosts, use a balloon for the head.

Inside:

*Remove all knick-knacks and clutter to give an empty feeling.

*Cover the furniture with white sheets.

*Sprinkle cornstarch on the tables to look like dust.

*Place plastic bugs about the room.

*Place a skeleton in the closet.

*Replace bulbs with low wattage and orange bulbs.

*Put some slime on the mirrors.

*Write backwards on the windows and/or mirrors with bar soap (not liquid soap) to look like someone's trying to get out.

*Put out old towels or black ones, so good one aren't ruined with makeup.

*Dry ice is popular but it is so dangerous, instead rent a mist/fog maker for the evening or buy one to use year after year.
