Pam's thread on heart attack made me wonder. (sorry, I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks - my fear is of death). Anyway, I have had a sharp pain in my chest, on the left side. Kind of to the right of my nipple. Feels like it is in my breast. I've had it for years. Maybe 2 or so. Anyway, dr says it is a pulled muscle. In the back of my mind, I wonder. Should I be concerned?

When I had my emergency c-section and hysterectomy, my blood pressure dropped to 60/30. A cardiologist was in attendance b/c of this. I was in ICU hooked up to heart machines plus whatever else they had me hooked up to for 24 hrs. If there was any type of blockage, would it be detected?

I sometimes get numbness in my arm and in my jaw which they say is probably from an anxiety attack. I also have TMJ which is really bad this wk and it usually causes me to have pinched nerves. Which radiates down my arm?

Sorry to ask such a mundane question. Sometimes I just need to hear from others that it is nothing to worry about.

Thanks, guys.

Don't feel bad Stacey -- I suffer from panic attacks too and I swear they feel like a heart attack would. I've even had EKGs and all sorts of monitoring over it. I'd be interested to hear the answer myself!

Stacey...I worry like that to. I have panic disorder, and I had chest pains(arm pains) really bad in the beginning(I rarely get them now)....they even did an EKG on me...but everything was okay.

Here are some 's for you!

I know how you all feel. I get em too.

A sharp pain is usualy to do with lungs. Anxiety attacks can cause you heart to beat faster, which then freaks you out more, but it is unlikely it would cause a heart attack.

Of course, with saying that, if you ever have any sort of chest pain, you should always have it checked by a doctor straight away.
