Sore Throat...

What can I do to help my throat stop hurting. I'm not feverish or anything...just feel under the weather with a sore throat. Is there anything natural that could help it?

How many days should a sore throat last before you visit the doctor?

Poor Devon, he has a sore throat to. But he seems to be handling it a lot better than me. I think it's something Michael brought home from school...but Michael seems to be doing okay(he was sick over the weekend with it).

I made sure to keep my fluids up and I drank some hot tea(decaf) Hot beverages seemed to help my throat feel better. I know some people recommend Chammomile while pregnant.

I really did not take any of that lovely Sudafed because I was kinda nervous to take it. So I just got rest, drank lots of water and had a glass of tea when it got horribly bad. Although if you don't like tea, my suggestion won't help.....lol

Honey helps, if it is really bad just have a teaspoon of honey, I swear you can feel the relief as it goes down. Or else honey with lemon and hot water.

These are really good for colds as well

I hope your throat feels better soon Tara, it is no fun having a sore throat and for Devon too

Running a humidifier might help, if you have one. Since you're in MN, I assume you've been running your heaters. The hot dry air from the heaters might be adding to the irritation in your throat. If you don't have a humidifier, you could place a pot of water on a heating grate. That should put a little moisture into the air.

I hope you feel better soon, Tara!

Licorice root tea is soothing to the throat. Tyoically doesn't need any additional sweetening either Also helps upset stomach.

I know the feeling Tara. I am making a Dr's appt as soon as I can and having my tonsils out after the holidays.
