Teething, but no teeth

My poor little guy... His gums are giving him terrible fits. He's been drooling and chewing for months, now, but still no teeth. I'm starting to see what looks like the tops of two font bottom teeth, but they just won't come through. One day I can see them and the next day I can't. He chews on his bottle instead of really sucking on it, so I really wonder if he's getting enough to eat. The sitter says he eats really good for her, but he only ate three bites for me last night. He starts throwing a fit at about 7pm every night. We have to put Orajel on his gums and give him Tylenol to calm him down at all. It hasn't interrupted his sleep, though. He seems to actually be sleeping more.

Is there anything else we should be doing to help him?

We give Elijah Humphreys "3" and it seems to work for him most of the time. The pharmacist said it is a pain killer in baby form.

If you have access to a health fod store (some people find them at Walmart) I suggest trying Hyland's teething tablets. I was just able to find them about a week ago, after Logan already cut his 2 bottom teeth. That was a miserable experience and I sounded much like you. He just cut his first top tooth and it has been much easier with the teething tablets. I give him 3, 3X's a day and if the pain is really bad, Tylenol in addition. They really worked well for us. Sorry I wote a book about that.

I went to a health food store and bought teething tablets for my dd...adn they worked so much better than the tylenol and orajel we were using on her...adn it was better for her. Give those a try and I hope he cuts those teeth soon

Oh Wow! I'm so glad that we're not alone Dina! We are going through the exact same thing right now. Still no teeth! They are right there and I'm expecting them to pop through either tonight or tomorrow, but I won't actually believe it until I see them. LOL

I am sorry he is so miserable! I would try the teething tablets too. I wish I would have known about them a few months ago.

I've never heard of the tablets. Sounds good!

Hang in there, they'll come through. Dawson buds were out at 4 months (don't laugh, I took him to the dentist) but his teeth didn't come through until 7 months. And they came in groups of 2. He is 1 yrs old and he now has 10 teeth and dr said his eye teeth are coming out!!!
