Safety Gates

Well, now that Mr. Energy is pulling up on everything and crawling with the speed of a Nascar racer, I have GOT to get a gate--at least for the stairway. The one I found that I'd really like is way out of my price range. The next one down that I saw looked pretty good, but it got some bad reviews on the Toys R Us site.

Does anyone have a stairgate that they REALLY like?

Sorry. We don't have an upstairs, so we never had to worry about one. I hope you find one that is reliable and not too expensive.

I use one of the regular ones with the plastic mesh. It wooks fine except when the dog eats through it. I have never had a problem and I am on Nascar driver #2.

We have a great one that we got at Babies R Us ... it is screwed onto one side and swings open like a door. It is plastic and to open it you have to grab the handle on the top and puch a button down and pull up at the same time! VERY HARD to open. Most adults can not open it! However, Kale started opening it last week! BUT I would still recommend it. Afterall, he can open the deadbolts too! So I don't think any gates would contain him!

We have one by Safety first...we lvoe it. It has a handle on the top of it and it is not flimsy by any means....some of the ones we looked at were pathetic. Iwill see if I can find a pic of it and post if for you

I just have the plain old basic cheap gate. We used it with both kids and we used it on the stairs too. I am no help...sorry
