Thanksgiving and the English vicar

An English vicar was making housecalls one Thursday in November just outside London in an American neighborhood. He was quite surprised when a family invited him in, served him a large dinner and made him a part of their family for the day. He later learned that it was Thanksgiving Day. After that, he always made sure to make housecalls on the last Thursday in Novemeber in American neighborhoods. I heard the story from someone who knew him. He thought it was very funny.

This is a true story told to me by my friend Barb who was friends with the vicar.

Good way to make sure you get a free meal! What the heck is a vicar anyways?

Vicar - he is the local church religious leader of the church of England. Just like a minister or priest.
