Last minute Birthday "uh-Oh!"

Well, I thought I was doing SOOOO good….

I’ve had all this birthday stuff for Jonathan's birthday for at least a month. Well… I asked Bob about having a party (I think this is all in my journal), and he said whatever I wanted to do. He didn’t want to decorate the house all up or anything, but we could do cake and stuff. I asked him if there was anyone he wanted to invite, and he said “nah”.

Well… So, I made out a couple of invitations and gave one to Karen (my MIL) and sent one to Peggy and Wayne (our friends from our old church--it won’t get there in time, but I put pictures in it, so they’ll enjoy it.). Well, I was telling Debbie (our sitter) about the Veggie Tale invitations, and she told me they sounded cute, and I shoudl send them out to all the out of town relatives just to be nice, and to bring her one. So, I did. And now she said unless something major happens, they would like to come to the party. They would like to meet Jonathan's grandparents, etc. Eeeeee. Bob’s gonna die! I just thought I'd invite them out of courtesy. I didn't think they'd come. I don't mind. It will probably be fun, but that's going to necessitate cleaning the house really well and getting a little more together than I planned for.

And I’ve gotta figure out something to feed these people! :-0 Something cheap, that is… Any ideas? It is at 7 pm, so I need to know if fixing dinner is appropriate or not. MIL is baking the cake. I was going to fix some tea, get some soft drinks, etc. I figured maybe chips, dip, and veggies or something. Or should I do burgers or something? I need ideas and my brain is too tired to come up with anything on my own.

Thanks in advance.

At 7 o'clock, I wouldn't think you'd need to serve dinner. I would have cake and ice cream, chips and dip, veegies would be good too.

A 7PM party doesn't need a dinner, just some snack type food. Don't worry. I don't think anyone will show up expecting dinner at that hour.
