Diaper rash

While bathing Tay this afternoon i noticed she had diaper rash on her bottem and when i put her in the bath she started crying so i took her out and had a look and its red raw, only if i picked it earlier. She was fine last night and didnt have it then, so i guess she got it today. Should i take her to the doctors or what cream should i get?

Thanks ladies.

I always found zinc and caster oil cream to be very effective and I had two with chronic diaper rash. Also using baking soda in the bath seems to help sooth it. And if your weather is anything like ours, make her baths warm not hot.

I do not know what kind of creams etc. you have there??? Here I would suggest Desitin and maybe just a little baby powder. Also if it is really bad you can put an antibiotic ointment on her really raw areas. I use neosporin..don't know if you have that or not. You need to make sure you change her more often than usual.

Maddie is allergic to most diapers and wipes. I have had to switch around to find the brands she can use and you may have to switch diaper brands. You might want to not use wipes when she has the rash because it can irritate it. Try using a soft cloth or wash cloth. Or even cotton balls. And if you can not get it cleared up you might have her checked for a yeast infection.

Do you have Avenno products there? They make a diaper rash ointment and an oatmeal bath, both of which can help - especially the oatmeal bath if her bottom is really sore.

Ally still gets these diaper rash bumps (don't know what else to call them) and her pediatrician told me to put antibiotic ointment on it if nothing else worked. I use a product called Dr. Smith's diaper oinment, but I don't know if you can get it there. When Ally had a severe rash, this stuff cleared it up in less than 2 days.

I used a natural moisturizer cream called Super Smoothie Cream by Tawna Hill... my girlfriend brought it over and i was shocked after 2 days it was gone. With no drugs or chemicals, also its like a luxury product... highly recommend. Apparently they sell out all the time. Here is the page if foundĀ http://www.tawnahillbaby.com/products/super-smoothie-cream
