Kim what are the normal levels for a thyroid test? per a blood test
post #2 of 6
Which test? There are several: T3, T4, TSH, .....
Let me look them up & I'll get back to you....
Ok... here goes....

Total thyroxine (T4): 5-12 mcg/deciliter
Free thyroxine (FT4): 0.9-2.4 nanograms/deciliter
Total Triiodothyronine (T3): 70-195 ng/dL
Free triiodothyronine (FT3): 0.2 - 0.6 ng/dL
Free Thyroxine Index (FTI): 4-11

When you get your results, ask the RN or MD giving you the results what their NORMAL is. Will give you a good picture. I would explain further on each test, but I'm so tired I could just drop right now... gotta go to sleep! If you have further questions, WEB MD has some good resources for thyroid conditions.

Thanks Kim
Tomorrow I see my doctor again as he called with my results and said they were pretty high. I figured he would just increase my medication but instead he wants to see me again...... so have no idea what is going on.
