Okay, I need some feedback please.

Bailey is starting to teethe and I am trying everything. DH and I went out to eat one day and this one lady stopped me to talk about Bailey...she told me about these little tablets that you put in baby's mouth that dissolves and it is all natural and it helps w/ the teething pains. Anyone know what these are called?

Also...now that she is teething....PED said that Bailey can get severe diaper rash...well, she has. I am trying all sorts of things. Let me know what works best for you all.

My tips for diaper rash......My Great Grandmother browns flour in a frying pan and uses it for diaper rash. It really works too. She just keeps it in a tupperware container. Caldescene powder really works wonders too, but I haven't been able to find it in the local grocery stores here lately.

I would be afraid of a tablet in a baby's mouth fear of them swallowing it. I used baby anbesol, that wasn't strong enough so I went up a little, still not strong enough, so I called Doc. I told them there is extra strength anbsol and he said try just a little. It worked.

Diaper rash Desatin,(I spelt it like it sounds, not sure of correct way) does wonders for rashes, we still uses it when Alisha even gets wind burn in the winter.

Thanks a bunch AnnieQ. The tablet that this lady showed me is like the size of hmmm....well, no bigger than the capitol Q in your name. They are a white little tiny dissolving pill tablet that dissolves under their tongues. This lady says it is a miracle drug for teething. I had another friend say all she used was baby tylenol, and occasionally orajel for babies. Thanks for your adivce.

I have heard of lots of people using those tablets. I never have but for some people they work really well.

I would know when Christian's teeth were going to come through because of his diapers I went and got Aveeno daiper rash and it worked really well. Some people on babyU swear by the Aveeno oatmeal bath stuff. They all have great things to say about it but his rash has never been to bad so I've never used that kind.

Good Luck to you!!

Aveeno works great on diaper rashes! Also I found this stuff called Bexly's Butt Paste.. i've heard a lot of GREAT stuff about it.. but it is a little on the expensive side.. but i guess anything for our little ones in pain!

I too have hear of those tablets and I kow they aren't too big and would probably dissolve just fine under her tongue with no problems they're kind of soft anyway i've heard.

Also for a little bit of instant relief for the diaper rash..t ry a baking soda bath for Bailey. Just enough for her to sit in to let her bottom soak and feel a bit better!

We've been lucky that Alexander hasn't had many problems with teething and he hasn't had many rashes.

When his teeth do bother him, we've given him baby Tylenol and he feels better in no time. As for his occasional rash, Desitin irritates his little bottom and makes things worse. Al's doctor gave us samples of Flanders Buttocks Ointment and it works wonders.

Good luck with helping Bailey feel better!!

We have Flanders here too. We have never had to use it. But I have it. It works great on just about any rash. I have a rash on my arm and it helps make it fade for a long time and when it starts coming back I just get put more Flanders on.

I tried those teething tablets on Hailey. Before I gave one to her I put it in my mouth to see just how fast it does dissolve
FAST! Personally I did not see any difference in her behavior. I ended up just giving her Tylenol and Baby Orajel.
They are just called Teething Tablets. The brand I got is Hyland's Homeopathic Teething tablets. They are in a white bottle with a pink and blue label. I found them in the medicine area of WalMart.

I also love Aveeno for diaper rash. I tried almost everything and Aveeno is the only one that tactually cleared it up within a day.
Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

Jennifer,

Thank you for reminding me of the name of those tabs for teething. I hate it when you know what it is called but just cannot remember. Thanks a bunch. I think that I will try them out and see if they work on Bailey. She does okay w/ the baby tylenol, but lately, it doesn't seem to be doing the trick completely.

Thanks all you other moms for the tips on diaper rash creams and ointments. I read somewhere that cornstarch powders are really bad for diaper rashes, that they feed the rash and make it worse???? Do any of you know if this is true? I cannot use anything cornstarch on Bailey b/c it just doesn't help, same w/ desitin. I will go and try the Aveeno diaper rash cream and the baking soda bath. Thanks for the great tips,......I just love this site.

I was always told if Iwas going to use any powder on a baby I should make sure and use the cornstarch kind and not the regular baby powder because of the talc that is in the reg. kind. We use Johnson's w/cornstarch in it here. I should say when we use it because we don't use it all that often. But who knows. There are so many dos and don'ts out there that sometimes we just all lose track of what is what.

I know isn't this site great!! I have learned so much from everyone here!

You are so welcome!!
As for the powder--I do not know. I have always been told that baby powder, if used in excess & breathed in, can make the baby cough & such so I have never used any. Luckily every other means I have tried has worked so I have not had to try it.

I love this site too. I have learned so much from everyone and feel like I am making new pals!!

My kids never had teething pain, but my nephew had a lot of trouble. My sister had great success rubbing his gums with the clear Benadryl allergy elixer. It was bubble gum flavored too and he loved it.

Talk to some of your parents and ask them what they did for teething pain for babies. I know from the older generation they used rum, gin, you name it.. My ex- sister in law used peach snapps on my niece.

I have heard about those pills, but for the life of me can't remember what there called. My friend says when she put ambesol on her little one, he looked at her like she was torturing him. She used that little pill, says it tastes like vanilla and melts immediately and that did the trick. I have bought a product called Hurricane. It is supposed to be the same stuff the dentist uses to numb you before the novacaine shot. Real strong stuff, works great. Try the wet washcloth in the freezer for a few minutes... my son loves to chew on that and suck the water out of it. Also popsicles work too.

I used the tablets all the time!!!! They were life savers!!! I bought them at Wal Mart & & they were the same ones Cari used. They are all natural.

Annie I tied it firs before I gave them to Jake...They truley disolve instantly! Also teething babies have such an abundance of drool I think that would dissolve it even quicker!!!!
