but I have another question for ya

I wrote in another thread that my dh took me to the ER oday and to make a long story short...my potassium was normal (4.3)

While I was there I asked the VERY YOUNG doogihouser doc about the fact that I get these palpitaions so often. He said that it's common for woman my age to get them he told me not to worry!
I've never heard that....have you?

It feels like a baby kicking in my chest.

I have never heard of it either.....it will be interesting to see what kim has to say about it

I get those, but I have panic disorder. Do you have any type of anxiety problems?

Yes Tara, I have suffered from anxiety before, but these palpitaions happen when I'm relaxed and sometimes when I am going to sleep.

You could be on to something there though

You are getting on my nerves, so QUIT it!! I'm JUST KIDDING!!! Ask away....

Yep, my cardiologist told me that it was normal for me too. I even wore a halter monitor for over 24 hrs to check out my rhythm. I do have a little caffiene problem... show me any night shift worker who doesn't & I'll be amazed.... Anywho.... unless you are symptomatic with them.... dizzy, nauseated, cold, clammy, or diaphoretic, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks Kim
That's good to know. Maybe the Doogiehouser's know what they are doing afterall

As for coffee and night shifts....that's the ONLY time I drink coffee...there's no-way I'd last without it

Thanks so much for answering all my questions. Hey!...you wouldn't want me to be looking after you I don't seem to know much when it comes to my OWN ailments
I could almost win an award for the least knowlegable nurse in history!
Good thing I have my vise....that'd be YOU kim
Hey...can I pack you in my bag and take you to work with me? That way I have less risk of killing off all my patients

I get them when I am calm to and for no apparent reason.

I'm so glad you're okay Genie. I've been worried about you.

Genie... you crack me up!!

Tara, I'd get my palpitations just sitting around doing my homework -- maybe the palpitations were b/c of nursing school -- I worked days at that time, so I wasn't real big on caffiene then. So, I went to my MD, he referred me to a cardiologist for a halter monitor, I did that & they saw nothing unusual for someone my age.
