I just saw this article and thought this was a great money saving idea and a great way to help get the new parents some goodies!

Recently, my friend and I threw a baby shower for her sister
and brother-in-law. Instead of buying decorations that we
would just throw away later, we went to the dollar store and
bought six baby bottles for $1 each and the same number of
feeding bowls with covers. We bought one big bouquet of
flowers and divided them between the baby bottles making cute
vases that the parents could take home and use later. We used
the food dishes for candies and sent them home with mom and
dad too!
