My dh has been feeling like his bp is bottoming out lately. When I got diagnoised with hbp, I was in the military and they insisted on taking my resting pressure. Which is better resting pressure or your pressure after you've been active? What does it mean if his pressure is bottoming out and what can he do about it?

Lenora, I would probably have Steve see his MD, hypotension could be a precursor or symptom of many things.
BP readings vary for what you are testing. High BP's are usually tested as a resting reading b/c it gives you a better picture. Low BP's can be tested for as a resting reading or directly after standing up, which measures orthostatic hypotension, which they check with some cardiac meds, such as CoReg.
Anyway, if Steve continues to have these symptoms or continues to feel poorly, he may need to consult with &/or see his MD. I don't think I'd wait too long with it....
Good luck!

His BP after standing and walking around at the mall for a couple of hours was 102/72 which about my resting pressure rate. I have been reading up on this. He has a faulty valve from a congential heart defect. It said that low bp can be caused by things like this and dehydration. He has mentioned he feels better after having something to drink. I thought because he was also having a sugar problem at the same time, it was related to his diabetes -which I understand it could very well be. I'm going to keep an eye on it and make sure he gets plenty to drink when the problems start. That's what they reccomended on the sites I went to at least.

I usually run a SBP in the 90's, so 102 seems pretty cool to me. As long as he is pink, warm & dry with no changes in his status, it's OK. I would agree, drinking some fluids would definitely perk him up, as hypotension can signal dehydration.
If this works, cool!
If he has some major changes or this doesn't help him, then consult your MD.Good luck! I hope Steve feels better soon!

The water treatment is working!
Everytime he's had the tingling, "heart attack" feeling as he calls it, he's been drinking a big glass of water and it immediately clears up.
