It looked like a good thing to me. I have LATCH in my car, so I think I'm in good shape as far as the car seat goes.

I had been thinking about getting a couple of those!! Guess I will hold off. We have the LATCH in our car too so I guess I would not even need it really.

I use mine all the time because the seat belts never get tight enough and I have an approved car seat. What else are you supposed to do? It's the only way to keep his seat from moving.

Ok, this is probably my
hormones going here, but I was little offended by the reviewers comment:
Quote:
Excuse me, but I purchased the product because I THOUGHT I was getting something that would help make the seat safe, not because I lack the time and patience to make sure my CHILD is safe in his seat!!!! She could do the review without cutting down parents who thought they were being extra safe!!
Liz, I will check with the suggestion you made and have the seat checked. We have a toyota 4-runner and no matter what I do the seat seems to move alot more than the recommended 1 inch. That is why I used the Mighty-Tite. And I don't do it tight enough to break anything, just tight enough to remove slack from the belt. Obviously I was wrong in my thinking, so I will go to see what can be done and if I need to purchase a new seat, so be it.

What is latch you all are talking about? I have the two seat belts on each side that go across the shoulders and the one lap belt in the middle. I put his car seat in the middle.

Our car seat uses a latch that attaches to a bolt that is placed permenantly on the car. The bolt goes at the back of the trunk and the latch goes up behind the back seat to clip to the car seat.
It also uses the standard car's safety belt which goes fits through the car seat.
So in other words Michael's car seat secures at 2 different places plus the latches that secure Michael in the car seat itself.
