What are some of the sure signs that you're ovulating? I've read so many different things, and I'm confused. Thanks.

I am no Fertility Guru or a doctor. I believe a temp rise and egg white cervical mucus are signs of ovulation. Some woman have pain when their ovary releases the egg. I don't ovulate, so I am not sure.

Ovulation Predictor

I've seen ovulation predictors in drug stores. From the price I'd think you could use it for as long as needed.
Other than that I'm not really sure. It's at CVS and lots of other drug stores. Good Luck!

I used an ovulation calculator. Here the link to the one I used.

Ovulation

Thanks for all the great information!

My husband and I bought one of those ovluation tests. We read the directions and we're able to figure out w/out using the test, which days I was supposed to be ovulating. But because my periods are so irregular, decided we would use the tests anyway.

We went out of town on a road trip the week I was supposed to take the tests. I kept forgetting to take them, so we wound up never using them. When we came back home, I was supposed to start my period, but I didn't so I took the pregnancy test from the ovulation kit. I was shocked when it said I was pregnant. My husband didn't believe it either and bought "another" test for me to take. Sure enough! We're expecting in July. It's just amazing how things work out...

Congratulations!

That's great news! I haven't tried the ovulation test, but I was supposed to start my period yesterday (shhh, Dawn!). My hubby's already been doing the happy dance, but I keep telling him to wait until I can take a HPT. I won't believe it until I see it. How long do I have to wait? I always forget, and I have NO patience!

Thanks for sharing your story!

Actually, the way I found out is I was REALLY sick. I had that 24/7 morning sickness which felt like the flu. I could not figure out why I was so sick. I happened to be talking online with a friend and was telling her and she says "I bet you're pregnant" I was like "yea, right!" But then I kept thinking about it. I was supposed to start my period that day and I didn't but I've been a couple of days late before, so I didn't think anything of it. But I was just SO sick...so I took the pregnancy test that night at work, and sure enough! It was so weird.

I don't know how long to wait! Are you feeling sick at all? I am crossing my fingers for you!!!

Nope...not feeling sick at all. Yesterday I thought I was a bit nauseous, but I figured it was wishful thinking. I got a bite to eat and felt better.

We'll see! I never "got" sick with my others...just nauseous. (I have three girls, ages 5, 3, and 1.)

Fun talking with you!

Oh my goodness Mia!

I thought you were getting a little too baby happy lately. I almost made a joke last time we chatted, but refrained. I'm on pins and needles till I hear back!

And btw -- if you're a day late, you can test. Take it from Miss Impatient that actually tested before I was ever late -- and it gave a positive result. EPT is one of the more sensitive brands (I read up on all of them last time I was TTC). Good luck -- and congrats segilb!

I don't want to get my hopes up...

I'll let you know if anything happens...like if Monthly Martha shows up, or if I do an HPT. I wondered if you'd see my post! *snicker*

Good Luck Mia
Dawn is right though EPT works great. I was so impatient I could never wait the week they recommend. I believe I took one they day I was due to start because I was hoping I was pregnant and it was positive. But good luck and I hope things go the way you want them too!!!

Thanks so much...if there wasn't so much snow on the ground, I'd run out right now...you've got me so charged to find out! Thanks again!

Would you like me to mail one to you? LOL I tell you, I can't imagine, snow or not, me not running out to the store the second I thought there was a chance. Heck -- got any ovulation predictors left? They *say* that if you're already pregnant, they will show up as if you're ovulating. I never tried it though. I always just ran out & bought the PT.

Now we're all dying to know!

Well, still no period, so I believe no matter how much snow is on the ground, I'll be running out for a HPT today. I'll let you know what it says! You'll be able to tell from the icon when I post to the board, blue sad face for negative, green grinning face for positive!!

Ovulation Predictors

They do work!!! My Husband and I had been trying to conceive for a year, we finally deceided to try an ovulation predictor, I had had my LMC on Oct. 9th., so when it started getting closer to the time that I would ovulate I started using the test kit (I used First Response). Each day the result line got darker, when it matched the comparison line, we got to do the fun part.

On Nov. 11th. I took a HPT and it was positive, I made a Drs. appointment to confirm the results. I am due July 17, 2001.

Congratulations!

Great little invention! They really do work! So glad to hear they worked the first time around for you after trying so long!

I also had great success using them -- all 3 pregnancies happened the 1st or 2nd month using the kits. Can't complain about that! I can't remember the brand I used -- I want to say EPT. Do they have OPTs also?

Thanks Dawn!!! Yes EPT does have a OPT Test Kit. All I know is that I'm finally pregnant, and couldn't be happier.
