1st Birthday Idea

For my daughter's first birthday, everyone told me to be sure to buy or make a small cake just for my daughter to dig her hands into and have a ball. I thought it was a shame to have a plain old little cake that I would bring out after she blew the candles out on the pretty one.

Her party theme was Winnie-The-Pooh, which I had made by a very talented cake artist! I asked her to make Pooh holding a balloon, which was a separate little cake. She used a slice of a fruit roll-up as the string and it was adorable!

My daughter got to eat the beautifully decorated balloon, and the rest of us got Pooh!

Birthday parties are a lot of fun especially there 1st.What we did for our 3rd child since his name was Noah and we did his room as Noahs Ark we had a Noahs Ark birthday party for him with just our family members. We had 2 cakes made one small for him and another for us with noahs ark on it..it was beautiful.( I hated to have to eat it). but it was good.
Of course grampa had fed him a bunch of junk before the lighting of his cake and so we didnt get to see him tear into his 1st cake.he was stuffed before hand...So Hubby was very disappointed and decided to try it again for his 2nd birthday which will be in January. It will be different, but we feel we got jipped on his 1st cake..lol..

If anybody has a Fred Meyer's in their area they offer a free little cake when you order their birthday cake through them for their first birthday. We have never given our kids their own birthday cake but I'm going to try it with Jordan. One of my friends gave her kid the whole pooh's head and the poor kid was so sick for the rest of her birthday they couldn't do anything.

Poor kid! We used to have Krogers around here and they would also give a free "baby" cake.

I think alot of the major chains have a free cake for baby's First Birthday with the purchase of a sheet cake. I know our local Safeway does.

Alexandria turned 1 last Tuesday and we did Tweety Bird. We had the entire dining room in Tweety even the mail box. Dh says I was going over board since she would not remember it but it is on video so we can at least show it to her. She did have lots of fun and really did not make a mess with the cake. It was just in her hair and highchair. None on the walls and we took all the pix of just incase.

noahs ark party

When we had our sons party I ordered online at "Birthday Express" for noahs ark and for $40.00 I got the whole kitten kaboodle, ballons 3 different colors(blue, red, yellow) around 15 each, mylar balloon, centerpiece, candle, streamers,(red, blue, yellow)ribbon,(red, blue, yellow)tablecover, forks, spoon s (blue,)napkins(16),paper plates(8)in two different sizes, paper cups(8)
Everything you need for a party and of course they had other things to get like a matching bib with sippy cup and a noahs ark figurine and all kinds of things.I've been shopping with them on every party we have had(including our last baby shower)I think thats all,but I could be wrong. Please check into it.A lot of great ideas for our lil ones. For his 2nd b-day we did the construction party and bought the video. He loves construction vehicles. This way it saves us trying to gather all that we need for the party. It comes in one box.And all you do is put it together and either buy or make there cake.Oh and dont forget the gifts.
