Birthday at work?

This week, one of our engineers is having a birthday. This is the guy that is always bringing us lunch, candy, gifts, etc. We'd like to do a little something for him, but I have no idea WHAT!

I like the idea of a gift certificate. You could get everyone together and have a surprise pot luck lunch. Where everyone brings a dish. You can give him a gift certificate (golf, resturants, movies... whatever he likes) during the lunch.
