Here's the fifth mission...Keep a food journal.
Here's what you'll need to do:
*During the next week, I want you to write down everything you eat for 48 hours. The 48 hours don't have to be consecutive. You can do 24 hours, then do 24 hours a few days later. It's up to you.
*Here are the things you'll need to write down:
**What time it is
**What you eat (give exact measurements...you can't say a handful of M&Ms or a spoonful of this and that...Measure!
**Everytime you eat, rate how hungry you are on a scale of 1 to 5...1 meaning not hungry and 5 meaning starving and tummy rumbling
**Write down what kind of mood you're in (happy, sad, mad, stressed out, etc)
**You have to reply to this thread and tell us what you've been eating. Don't post each time you eat...just reply and say, "Here's what I ate on Friday", for example
I'm hoping that keeping a food journal will help you identify time of the day and events that might be jeopardizing your efforts to lose weight.
When I first joined Weight Watchers, keeping a food journal really helped me. I was surprised by how often I had been eating without thinking about it before I started WW. I've slacked off on keeping track of my food intake, and it has made a big negative difference when I weigh- in. I think the food journal also helped me refrain from snacking on unhealthy stuff because I didn't want to write down 5 mini Snickers bars or go to the trouble of figuring out how many points were in one or two bites of food.
Good luck!
Remember....If you bite it, write it!
