(CNN) -- Accused serial bomber Eric Rudolph will appear in federal court in Birmingham, Alabama, Friday for arraignment on an updated indictment that makes him eligible for the death penalty.
In the arraignment, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT (2 p.m. EDT), Rudolph will again hear the charges against him, including a re-written charge related to the 1988 bombing of the New Women All Women Health Care Clinic and the resulting death of Birmingham police office Robert Sanderson.
Since Rudolph's November 2000 indictment for that bombing, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued guidelines in another case about how indictments in death-penalty cases must be written.
