I finally got Haley's birthday party all planned and put together! (Not totally paid for but we are getting there).
We rented a big picnic shelter at the Eno River. It cost $75 but my mom paid for it until I can pay her back. That takes some stress off of needing to afford it in the next few weeks. This is the first year that the place we have it won't put a limit on the number of guests we can have. We are inviting about 20 hoping that atleast 10 show up.
I ordered sand castle shaped plastic bottles from Oriental Trading company and bought lots of bulk colored sand at Walmart. Obviously we are making sand art. Hopefully it will go over well and not turn into a big mess and fight for the bottles and colors they want.
I also got a pinata and lots of candy and little toys to fill it with. It actually came out cheaper to do that and just buy empty goody bags for kids to put there stuff in than it would have been to fill individual goody bags because I would have to buy more individual things than just big packs of 1 thing.
I spent 5.99 on the pinata at Walmart. $3 on candy, $2 on bags, and $1 each on a pack of 60 shaped erasers and a pack of 200 individual stickers.
So I spent $13 total on goodies for 20 kids. I'd like to put 1 more thing in there but can't think of something small and cheap enough.
With those 2 activities and cake and present opening I am hoping that it will take up the whole 2 1/2 hours.
I'm really excited and I hope it turns out to be a good party.
