Ideas for a simple at home party?

I want to do just a simple at home sort of thing for Maddie. She is just 2 and doesn't need a huge expensive party. We do not know many people so there won't be much in the way of guests. But I still want to make it a special day.

Any suggestions?

Have a Maddie's a princess day. Make her a cardboard princess tiara (splg) and cover it with pink material .. blue on all kinds of feathers and sparkly things. Make her a big pink cake and decorate her chair like a throne!! Have guests "bow" to her!

At that age I helped my kids make there own pinata with a large balloon and flour and water for the paste to dip paper strips in. They were able to get messy and then after it was dry and the party was on they each got to break there own.

I really love Maddie is a princess day.

My kids have always loved ballons streamers adn candles. They never needed more than that to have a great B-day.

The maddie is a princess day sounds great!

Make a meal that maddie likes for everyone since it is her day.

Meagan....I'll try not to make this a book but when Nicholas was 2 or 3 he loved the movie "A Knights Tale" and we made him a Knight.....The part that he loved the best was free! We got a refrigerator box, layed it on its side, did some cutting with a box cutter and he had a castle...we colored the outside (it ended up looking like a house, but he thought it was his castle) we used sidewalk chalk and crayons and markers....we made a drawbridge....cut a hole in the side that is hinged at the bottom and used yarn through a hole in the side of the box for him to pull it closed when he was inside it.....HE LOVED IT!!! It stayed in his room where it didn't really fit, but it stayted in there for a month!! The box was free and once you start working on it, so many ideas will come to you we went back and got several boxes to add to it
