Options during pregnancy when your baby is Breech

Here is an article that I found that gives you some exercises to try to turn the baby when you are breech. Click here to read the article If Payton doesn't turn by 34 weeks then I will DEFINITELY be trying these! All the places I looked on the www said that once you hit 36 weeks it is very unlikely that your baby is going to turn on it's own. I do NOT want to try that external thing where the dr trys to turn the baby! I have seen them do it on TLC and it looks like it hurts a LOT! Has anyone had that done b4?

when i had liz we had no idea she was breech...so i had an emergency c-section. If i would have known she was breech....and i had i known about the excercises in that article i sure would have tried them......

I have heard that manually turning the baby is very painful for the mother, but i dont' know anyone who has had that done before either

I delivered Kirstie-Raie breech .. no problems .. no forceps and she was a dry birth. I personally don't thik they should have let me have her .. but they thought I was just some dumb 19 year old kid!

Elizabeth was breech and I tried the exercises but they didn't work. As for the external version or whatever it's called, my doctor said that because of her size the chances of it working were very slim. She said it can be painful but that they only keep going for as long as the mother and child can handle it and don't go beyond 30 minutes. Plus there are risks to both.

I opted to not try the external thing because of the risks to Elizabeth, but after suffering through a c-section, I've already decided if ever faced with the situation again that I would give it a try. Because of the baby being monitored the whole time and being in a hospital in case an emergency c-section were necessary, I think it would be worth it if it meant not having to go through surgery again.
