Hair color advice please!

Ok... I finally decided to change my hair color but I don't like it. I wanted blonde streaks through it but it turned out looking like I colored it mostly blonde--it makes me look washed out. Do any of you know what I can do to get it back to my natural color (I colored it at home)? Please help

Did you use a permanent or semi-permanant?
If semi - it will come out in a couple of weeks, if not, pick a dye that is closest to your natural color. You lie like yo're fair skinned, I might even go for a light copperish color with golden blonde streaks. To be safe, dont put too many around your face, so if its too bright at first, you wont feel that your being drowned out.
(I'm not a hairdresser, I've just dyed my hair WAY too many times!!)

I agree with Trish on this one. I always try a semi color first when getting into a new color then use permanent. Though I no longer use permanent b/c it really hurts my hair. Try recoloring it or highlighting it darker or something. Maybe highlight spots you wanted darker to darker. Highlighting uses a brush so that is a good way to do it.

I want to try to go back to my natural color ( I used a permanent color) so should I dye it now or wait alittle while?

Well, if you want you natural colour back, just wait a while until the dye goes away. Even though it is a permanent, they usually don't last more than a month or two. If you want to dye it right away, go ahead, I never waited the 6 weeks! I used to dye my hair red every 2 weeks!

Michele you wanted to streak it, that requires a cap that you pull hair strands threw. That way your hair natural hair color is ther also.

My suggestion is to wait at least 3 weeks for dying your hair again, other wise you will fry your hair. Like everyone said the more you wash it the more likely it will come out faster also, that is why ladies have touch ups all the time.

I just wanted to say that if you did do a highlighting kit (the kind that comes with a cap) that it most likely had a bleach in it and it wont just fade out back to your natural color after awhile.
If you "bleached" your hair you HAVE to wait a few weeks before dying your hair or it will be too dried out and the hair wont hold the color. Even a permanent will wash out within a few weeks.

Thanks everyone for your advice I am starting to like it more--just had to get used to it. I'm gonna wait until it starts growing out and then go back to my natural color.

Just like a perm you hate it for awhile and then it grows on you. Glad you like it better.
