Who carves in your family?

DH does it for us. I have no interest and he is always so proud of himself.

I draw the faces or designs on because DH has no artistic talent, and he does the carving.

I do the carving, and I just dont have the right knife, I end of cramping in my hand and it takes forever!

I carve one every year and boy is that a pitiful sight! I try though.

This year I think I will also buy a little one for Haley to draw on.

My DH and I have never carved pumpkins together before. I used to when I lived at home. I think my DH might carve a pumpkin with Darien this year. I remember it being so messy, so i don't think I will volunteer to help.

Dh's skill lies in computers and can't carve a pumpkin much less a turkey.

For the past few years Court has been gone. If he is home this year to carve a pumpkin it will be a family affiar. The last time he was home was in 2000!!! And we each did one.

Sandra - your pumpkin came out awesome!!!


I've tried carving them in the past... and it wasn't pretty. so, I usually will paint face's on them.
This year, we will try to make a family affair of it, and carve one together.

Mike does our carving. He gets all into it and makes a few really elaborate ones. For Haley, he lets her drawn a face on and then they do the carving together. Haley uses one of those little pumpkin saws.

I think I"m another I do the drawing and he does the carving. The boys ALWAYS want to help.

I usually scoop out the icky stuff though.
