a couple of us are dressing up at work. were all going to be hippies. there is going to be a stoner hippie, a biker hippie, a jimmy hendricks hippie, a grandma hippie and im the flower child hippie. i dont know what to wear!!

I would suggest to wear: faded blue jeans with flower patches sewn on. Shirt?? Flowers in your hair. Thread sandels. That is cute that you all are dressing up together.

Cute idea!

Do you have long hair? If you don't I would suggest a wig. Flowers in your hair is a good idea too. Do you have a beige vest with the fringe hanging down? That would be cute!

Paint flowers on your pants or shirt. If you don't have a vest then cut the bottom of a t-shirt up. Peace sign necklaces. Long danglie earrings .. go barefooted if you can You shoud skip around all day singing songs about love! Have fun!

OMG!! you all had very great ideas!! i was wrecking my brain thinking where the heck im i going to get a dye tshirt. ive never made one. but the painting peacesigns is a GREAT idea along with the painted floweres. im going to get to savers or something and look for some tight jeans and paint flowers everywhere. hopefully i can get away walking barefooted!! if not than ill have to wear my berkinstocks. my hair is shoulder lenght but i think im going to straghten it super straight. does hippies wear makeup?

hippes were very natural .. not much makeup at all .. except maybe a little blue eyeshadow Think that 70's show!

I picture a tamborine in your hands also!!

DH was a hippie for a Halloween party a few years ago and we even rolled him up a "joint" to tuck behind his ears. You should have seen peoples faces when it fell to the ground!

Yeah, I don't think much makeup.

If you have long hair, put a small braid on each side of your face and then you could do a flower ring to put on top of your head. Need some bellbottoms if you can find them. Roxanna's idea of painting flowers on the bottom is a good one. Either barefoot or sandles. OH yeah, and leave the bra at home!

I don't think they did Diana. My inlaws were hippies and they were the back nature, mother earth types. Do you have flip flops? Or leather beach type sandles? Those would work too.

jen, you made me laugh about the whole leave the bra at home. i think i might be send home from work. but hey, how about a sports bra. enought to squash them them.

yes, yes,.. u all put my outfit together. and i love it!!! i will do the braids thing on each side. no makeup except mascara, the painted flower jeans and the earth sandals or flip flops.

great ideas, ladies!!

Diana, I went as Lola Granola one year which is the same thing that you are talking about....I wore faded jeans that I drew flowers on with magic markers....a flower ring in my hair, flowers & peace signs painted on my cheeks.....A tye-dyed T-shirt and I wore a suede vest with the fringe on it and put a paper sign on the back that said "Make Love Not War" I wore lots of hemp necklaces with big peace signs on them. I went barefooted and carried around daisies that I got off the side of the road it was a great costume!
