Captain Hook Coat - HELP!!!

Alexander is going to be Captain Hook for Halloween and he insists on the costume being like the one in the Peter Pan movie - all red. I have found only two pirate costumes with red coats and one was sold out and the other was too big. I have been trying to find a coat or even a shirt that I could adapt into what he needs but am not having any luck.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use for a size 3T-4T red pirate coat?

Go to your local thrift store and try to find an old red blazer .. you should be able to cut the collars off and add what you need to it!

Thanks Roxanna. I've been looking there too and haven't had any luck. They're putting out old costumes now, though, so I'm hoping I'll luck into an old costume that has a red coat or shirt that I can adapt. I'm gonna check all the thrift stores over the weekend and hopefully I'll find something.

Someone at work also gave me a good idea - she said I could use a lightcolored coat, maybe luck into a kids doctor coat, and dye it red. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I found a Captain Hook costume over the weekend and bought it. It's a little big for Alexander but it can be altered to make it fit. He loves it and as been wearing it all weekend playing Captain Hook. I'm just glad that my search is over!!
