Austin for some reason has been begging to be Batman for Halloween. I have no idea why, he has really never seen the movies or the cartoons. But oh well! I bought him his costume yesturday at Walmart for $20 and it looks so cute on him! He was so happy that i bought it for him!
Connor is just going to be the Alligator Austin was 2years ago. It works out perfect with the hand me down costumes!

I saw the cutest Cinderella costume at Toys R Us. That's probably what Haley will wear if I can get it in her size.

My son is very into Yu-Gi-Oh right now (for those unaware, it's an anime cartoon - quite interesting, I find), so he wanted to be Yami-Yugi from that show.

You can buy a costume for $30, but I refuse to spend that on a cheap plastic costume. So instead, we went to the local thrift store today and found a women's woolen suit that was about the right shade of purple. I've already got the jacket pinned and ready to sew, and tomorrow, I'll cut the skirt down into some pants. I can make a mask for it using cardstock and an image from the Internet. Oh, and the best part? The suit only cost me $1.50!!! I am splurging, though, and buying the puzzle necklace that goes with it (found it on eBay - should be about $6.00 shipped).

I had figured on not spending more than $10 on the costume, and it looks like I more than make my budget!

Before I do any sewing, I'll do a couple of before pictures, so you can see what I did to alter it. It's going to be awesome!!

We went to Kmart the other day and Kyler picked out 3 costumes.
Now Dan and I just need to figure out which one he's going to keep.
(I hate making these decisions!! hee hee.)

Right now the choice is between:
A red dragon with wings
A green dragon with a tail
(These stem from Dragon Tales)
Or a skunk!

The red dragon is my least favorite... but it also seems to be the one that Kyler likes the best. So... that might be the winner!

Michael is going to be a wizard like from Lord of the Rings but I am going to make the costume a little more for his age.

I bought a black witch's hat for $1.94 and a cape for $4.94 and 2 yards of fabric to make his tunic and brown felt and witch stichery to make his belt and draw string bag with some goodies.

I am decorating the hat with celestial moons and stars.
