I'm thinking of doing an early dinner with my parents when we see them at the end of the month. (They get Christmas this year!) So.... I'm thinking about getting a turkey breast, stuffing, sweet potatoes (with brown sugar and marshmallows), either mashed potatoes or twice baked potatoes, green beans, carrots and whole wheat rolls. I'll probably have DH do his deep dish pumpkin pie (to die for! ) and I might do a small batch of fruit salad. MMMMMM..... can ya tell I'm HUNGRY!

Hmmm, we haven't planned the menu yet but it is usually something like this:

Cajun Fried Turkey (3)
Honey Baked Ham
Baked Mac and Cheese
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Green Bean Casserole
Brocolli Casserole
Corn Bread Dressing
Rice Dressing
Shrimp and Mirliton Pie
Brocolli Cornbread
Cranberry Relish

I know there is more but that's all I can think of right now...

Oh, almost forgot the desserts:

Pumpkin Pie
Sweet Potatoe Pie
Dump Cake
Watergate Salad
Dirt Cake
Fudge
Brownies

And usually lots more!

The only thing that I am sure of is the turkey! We will probably have the boring tradational dinner like we always do.

Oh I don't know, now that I can't eat gluten, God only knows what we'll do. Thanksgiving is at my house, my brother and parents are flying in... I will probably do the traditional stuff, and then see if I can find a gluten free, edible stuffing and gravy for me. I have already found a pumpkin pie recipe that uses pecans for the crust so I'll give that a shot!

Hopefully we'll have

Turkey
Baked Ham
cornbread dressing
gravy
Yams
Fresh vegetables with wild rice
Mashed Potates
Cranberry sauce

and pumpkin pie and apple pie

Hospital food

Actually I am thinking of doing Thanksgiving a day early so I get to partake and DH can bring me sandwiches for lunch and food for dinner while I am in the hospital.

Turkey breast cooked in the crockpot
Stuffing (for mom and DH)
Mashed potatoes (my favorite)
Green Bean casserole
Cranberries (for mom and DH)
Rolls
Pumpkin pie (for mom and DH)

I love Thanksgiving!!

Jenn.... sounds like a GREAT idea! (You mean you don't like hospital food? )

All of the menus sound great!! Maybe some of you could share your recipies of some of your non-traditional dishes so boring menus (like mine) can try something new!

Dana I can help you out with the Gluten Free Thanksgiving! The only thing you really have to give up is the Stuffing - everything else you should be good! (you can even make your own gravy and stuff!)

I will be going to my parents, so there will be nothing on my table.

My mom always has Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potates, Corn, Green Bean Caserolle, Dinner Rolls, Cranberry Salad, and Pumpkin Pie for Dessert.

I'm allergic to yeast, so we don't have stuffing either, although, I love it. We have:

Turkey
mashed potatoes and gravy
green beans
cranberry sauce
and
pumpkin pie

There will only be the three of us and we'll be having left overs for days.

We are doing all the same old things we do every year.

Turkey
Stuffing made inside the turkey
Stuffing made separate with no onions for other people
Gravy
Greenbean casserole
mashedpotatos
candied sweetpotatos
pecan pie
apple pie
pumpkin pie
