Thanksgiving Twenty Questions

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of someone or something related to Thanksgiving. Can you guess what it/him/her is? Let's play 20 questions!

See here for more fun ideas!
I'm not sure of the rules, I've never played 20 questions, altho for some reason the phrases "Is it bigger than a bread box" and "Is it animal, vegetable or mineral" are running thru my head

If this is an appropriate question I will go with

"Is it animal, vegetable or mineral"

You got the right stuff, Maree!

And you asked the one question that can be answered with other than "Yes" or "No"!

So, you asked animal, vegetable or mineral?

I answer: animal.

Question #2????
Does this animal have feathers?
Gobble Gobble?
Is it a turkey?!?!

I went back and forth as to whether or not to count these as 3 questions or one, so I split the difference and counted two...

The questions were:
Does this animal have feathers?
Gobble gobble?
and...
Is it a turkey?

No the "animal" does not have feathers and is not a turkey.

So, that would make question #4 next...
This is really hard as I know pretty much nothing about Thanksgiving either that you have Turkeys for dinner is about it .

#4. Does the 'animal' wear clothes?

YES!

Question 5 anyone?
Black and white clothes?
#6 Is it a Pilgram?

Am I allowed to guess now or do you have to wait until the 20 questions have been asked?

#5 from Lenora: Black and White clothes?

I'd have to give that one a NO

#6 from Maree: Sure, you can guess any time you think you know what it is. Now if I were really I would say that counted as TWO questions but I'm just an .

Oh, BTW, NO he/she/it is not a pilgrim.

A native American?

#7 asked by Lenora: A native American?

The answer to that question is YES!

I have a feeling this game will be over soon.
Now I was going to say Amerindian but then I remembered the answer that goes "No the "animal" does not have feathers" so choose the other party invovled

I have obviously been guilty of some major misconceptions
post #16 of 27
I am thinking of an object that is small and red. Can you guess what I am?

Is that question #8 Lenora, or is that a new answer in the form of a question. I'm confused.
nope it's a new game. I thought i would make it easier. Like 20 questions - only easier.

Oh, ok. Gotcha...

Anyone have a question #8 on the thanksgiving game?
NOT #8

Cause if you are looking for the name of a certain Native American I am well and truely sunk

Unless it is Hiawatha (sp) or Pocahontas(sp) or another Disney cartoon, otherwise I'm drawing a blank here, come on you Americans this is your holiday you must know the story behind it.

All I know is that the first winter at the first major settlement, starvation was a very real possiblity, followed closely by death by freezing or illness - caused by starvation and freezing. The settlement was saved when the local Native Americans bought the survivors food (I think turkey and squash - and I don't even know what squash is ). In memory of the generosity of spirit shown by the Native Americans and to remember how grateful they were, the settlement decided the honour the anniversary of their gift of life by Giving Thanks.

OK now does someone want to ask #8 and who wants to tell me how many details I got horribly wrong , I didn't even know I had gleaned so much info over the years, so I really would be interested in how close I come to the real story and maybe a link to the "Thanksgiving Story"

#8 - Is the Native American in question Squanto

And boy did I not have the story right
I'm lost. Are we still on the first set of questions or are we working on Lenora's questions now?
I think this is a new game and Lenora is the one with the answer and we have to ask the questions

Lenora, is this small and red thing food?

To the original 20 questions about Thanksgiving, on question #8, Maree, the one who was worried about not knowing about US Thanksgiving, you are correct!

The answer is/was SQUANTO!

Maree!
