I have already bought our costumes for this year.
I got Hailey THE CUTEST Winnie the Pooh Bumble Bee costume from the Disney Store. I totally LOVE it!! I cannot wait til I get pictures so I can post them!
Cori is going to be a White Tiger. It is one of the plush, warm ones. She loves white tigers so we got lucky when we found this one--thanks to eBay!!
What are your kids going as?

Caitlyn is going to be Tinker bell.
Brandon is going to be woody (again).
Haven't figured out what Angela will be. I won't have time to make them this year, so we are buying.

I think I am gong to put Austin in the same costume he was in last year. It was big on him and it should fit perfectly this year. So to get the wear out of it he will be a dinosaur.

I will probably borrow an idea from Tara's post -- Damon can be a solider this year. Camoflage clothing and a helmet from DH and all done with no $$$ spent. He's 8 so I think I can get away with it. That would be a great idea for a swap BTW. Halloween costumes.

My six month old is going to be mickey mouse. He looks so cute in the costume. My three year old is on a Snow White kick so she is going to be Snow White. She wakes up every morning asking if it is Halloween yet because she can't wait to wear her costume. My oldest is not sure what she wants to be yet. She might be Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Halloween is my favorite holiday! I just love Fall!

We were trying to decide and happened to be in Wal-Mart the other day and Billy found Superman pajamas in Alexander's size, so . . . he's going as Superman!! I love that they even came with a cape!! Plus, he'll be able to get lots of wear out of his "costume."

At first Den said an M&M but we can't find the costumes anywhere. So either a cowboy since we have a real cowboy hat for him and will just buy some toy guns for him and we even have a shirt that will look good on him and he has some cowboy boots too!

He also has batman pajamas that my brother bought him....Lisa just gave me that idea! I just hope that they fit him!!

Well we were going to put Austin in his costume he wore last year because it was so big on him. I tried it on him the other day and it was so small!! So we went and bought him another one from Walmart. He is going to be a Alligator. It is so cute!

How cute Skyismine!

Well, Zachary got some money for his birthday so he wanted to spend part of it on his costume. Zachary just turned 6 and guess what he bought for his costume? A witch hat with the hair attached, a witch broom, green paint for his face and ugly teeth!LOL! SO cheap too. The hat and broom were from Walmart and the other stuff he got from the dollar store! He is going to be the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz! Zachary has always loved that movie, but i thought for sure that he would want to be Superman or something!LOL! Kids-they always surprise you!! I am not sure what Bailey and Emily are going to be. Walmart had some really cute fuzzy plush ladybug costumes for babies for only $10 so i think that we may get that for Emily. With Bailey we will probably try to find something cheap that he can use again, like PJ's or a playset from Toys R Us.

Clifford The Big Red Dog!!!

We went looking for outfits ALL over the place. But for some reason they look like cheap plastic things this year. A few weeks earlier they had these cute Scooby-doo and Clifford outfits that looked great. They were a bit steep. But we decided to look around a bit more. Well we went back a week later and they were both gone. Luckly my friend works at the service desk and someone had returned the Clifford outfit and it was Austins size. We paid 34.00 for it, but Clifford is like Elmo he will never go out of style. So we plan on getting use out of it from our other children.

My little guy is not so little anymore. Every thing for Halloween use to scare him. This year he chose to be the grim reapor. I think the cute costumes for this guy are a thing of the past. The only thing I have bought so far is the mask and Dylan puts it on hiding around the house trying to scare me.You wouild think I would get use to it but he usually does jump me.

Both of my boys are going to be Dalmations - I took white sweatpants and sweatshirts and painted on black spots, and a white turtleneck for each. Cut off the ends of each sleeva and sew to look like ears, and then cut off the bottom of the shirt under the arms, stitch together. The collar goes over their head like a hat, and he ears hang down. I used the bottom pieces of the shirts for tails and shoe covers.

I will also put black face paint noses on them. we have a parade in my neighborhood every year, and I think they will be the cutest!!!

Michael is gonna be a Wizard, and I haven't seen anything yet for Devon. I have asked him but he doesn't care about it, LOL. So I am waiting for something to catch my eye!

My kids are dressing as...

My 4 1/2 year old son is going to be Superman. We found superman pajamas with a cape sewn on in the JCPenney catalog. Spent $20.00, but he can sleep in them for a year or so. And gauging from how often I have to improvise by tying an old receiving blanket on him when he is playing "Superman", I would imagine we'll definitely get our monies worth!

My 9 year old daughter is going as a " '50's girl". I'm making a pink poodle skirt with a black poodle appliqued on it. We are going to get our monies worth by also having a " '50's birthday party" for her right after Halloween.

I'm wearing my comfy grey sweatsuit that I appliqued a skeleton on the front of. So, I wear it every year!

Brandon is going to be a spider. The costume is so adorable its from Old Navy it's only $15.50. And its 2 peices so it won't be so uncomfortable and easy to move in.

Halloween costumes

This year my daughter wants to be Big Bird. I spent a week making her costume, orange pants with pink stripes, feathered shirt and a head. Up until this weekend she is still a little scared of the head!! Hopefully she will get over that soon!! LOL.

Lona, first I wanted to tell you that I like the names Andrew
or Andrea for your baby.

Okay, Maria is not sure what she wants to be yet. Monica wants to be Cinderella and Megan is going to be an angel. Monica was the angel 2 years ago. I bought the costume at Target, it is a one piece white quilted outfit with lace wings attached. The front says "perfect angel" on it. It came with a cloth wrapped headband with a fur halo attached. It is really cute! Monica was a ladybug last year, the costume was from Target again, it's like a vest with an attached hood, it's fleece and pulls over the head. It is very plush and warm. I just put a black turtleneck, leggings and boots on her. We also have the same type costume in a cow also bought from Target. I did the same turtleneck, leggings and boots for Maria when she was the cow, 2 years in a row.

Maria was a renaissance princess last year. I found a lady that makes the costumes. They are made from beautiful brocade type material, have a separate vest that goes on and ties in the back. It also had a hat that was rolled on the brim, cone shaped with 3 colors of scarves coming out the top and down Maria's back. She only charged $20 for the whole costume so I thought it was a great deal.

halloween costume

Well, I saw this topic on the Boards and had to reply even though my youngest, yikes, is 15. But I love Halloween, and wanted to share my two favorites costumes for my two kids. Deanna is 19. And I always had so much fun coming up with ideas. One year, I made costumes for my nieces and friends' kids. I think I made a dozen costumes that year.

Anyway, when Deanna was in first grade I made her a Christmas Tree with ornaments and a Star hat for her head. I also bought battery-operated mini lights and sewn them on. I was a delightful costume. And it was easy. Made from green felt and tulle.

That same year, I made Josh an Eight Ball (you know from pool) It was made from black felt with white circle in the middle. Elastic around the bottom to hold in the fiberfill (softer than newspaper) and a drawstring at the top. He had on a black sweatshirt and sweatpants. And I put two eight ballls on his cheeks.

Other different costumes, labybug, nail polish bottle, Uncle Sam (made one for my husband too, still have it), jester, robot.

Have fun with your little ones. My husband and I sit outside if it's warm and enjoy all the kids running from house to house collecting their tricks.

Halloween

My kids are 4 1/2 and 3 yrs old so this the first year they have both picked their costumes. Last year, my son was 3 1/2 and picked Steve from Blue's Clues. So I made my daughter who had just turned 2, Blue. They were cute. This year I asked them what they wanted to be and they both wanted to be Woody. We compromised and they are Woody and Jesse. They look so cute since my mom in law made them the costumes.
