Only once has Court had to work Thanksgiving. I just went to my mom's without him and saved him some food. Once (the year I moved to Maryland) we were not together because I was moving on Thanksgiving and we just went to Denny's for dinner.

My DH has the day off and Friday also. I am a SAHM, so I don't get a break from my job!

Not this year, thank goodness! The last 2 years I got stuck working Thanksgiving. However, instead of our nice "quiet" Thanksgiving just DH & I, I get to entertain the inlaws. Yipee.

Oh well, I'm going shopping Friday morning and to our hockey game on Friday night as planned.

Tim generally works every holiday and has for the last 5 years but this year he regular days off are Wed-Fri so this year he is home for Thanksgiving and the day before and day after.

I am putting his but to work in the kitchen to help me with the pies and making the stuffing this Wednesday.

Brian works until noon on Thanksgiving. BUt doing so now (with the new company) gives him an extra day of vacation becasue he's only getting regular pay that day.

Nope we are both lucky but when we first got together and I worked retail or the nursing home I always had to work.

Yup. I'm working now until 7:30.

Then I'm going home to sleep.
Then Chris will go with the kids over to Aunt Rose's house, so maybe I can actually get some sleep (unless I'm stressing over MIL being there and trying to convince Chris to let her take Brian - but not the other kids- to Houston to see her father. But that's a whole other can 'o worms.
I'll go over later.
Then I have to leave early because I should get some more sleep because I have to be back at work tonight at 11:30 pm, which is actually not bad because I will get OT pay PLUS a day off w/o pay each day for my thursday and Friday shift.

I know, I know... I'm and in dire need of

Go get some sleep LuAnn!

Well, I had to work all day today and I don't get overtime rates for it either , just joking we don't have Thanksgiving over here

However I did speak to the boss about xmas day and he said he will work Xmas Day so I can be home with the kids if I will work Boxing Day so he can go to the cricket test. He is not married and doesn't have kids so I am not doing his family out of his presence. But I will be working Boxing Day, New Years Eve Day and New Years Day, but never mind, I'm not working Xmas Day and that is the only one I was worried about.

I'm glad you were able to get Christmas off, Maree. I hope you're having a good day at work LuAnn and that your MIL chokes on her turkey.
