My mean cousins

Thanks to my cousins, my aunt and uncle (my mom's sister and bil) will be spending Christmas Day without their children. My mom plans on inviting them over Christmas Day though so we can spend some time with them.

I can't believe their own children are not coming home for Christmas!! It isn't that they CAN'T come home. They just don't want to. My mom is really disappointed in her niece and nephews. (1 niece, 2 nephews; although one of my nephews does visit them often...I just wonder why he isn't coming for Christmas ).

So I hope they do come spend Christmas with us. It's been a year since I've seen them.

don't get mad at me... but there might be a reason your family hasn't told you. My sister and I get the worst end of the stick every year because we refuse to spend the holidays with our parents. I don't know your cousins' situation. I hope your aunt and uncle have a nice holiday at your family's house.

Cheryl, they may be wanting to start some traditions of their own - and having Christmas at their house, with only their family may be what they want - not that they shouldn't go spend some time w/the rest of the family...

That is how we are. My parents would love for us to be there for the holiday and I would love to be there BUT we do not travel on the holidays. We spend our time here as a family and let the girls enjoy it. It is nothing personal against my parents, it is just that it is easier for the us if we stay home. Hopefully, your cousins are doing it for the same reasons.

They didn't even do anything for their 50th wedding anniversary. This is not just a holiday thing.

They are very nice people too. It isn't like they are butting into their daughter and son's lives or doing anything to make them angry. Their daughter said they were going to come up and without a reason told them last week that they were not going to be able to make it.

I hope we can make their holiday a little more enjoyable.
