I am soo sorry. I am a animal person, but since i have (became) a family I completely understand on how the family come first!

I'm so sorry Liz!!

I love my dog, but he's not an indoor dog. I couldn't have that all the time either. He's way too big to be indoors and plus he has the "DOG CONDO" outside that's fully insulated & has a deck on it, not to mention he's got a double kennel on cement.

Not too spoiled, eh?

I know what you mean
Jerryw as supposed to be the one taking our dog for a walk (has not happened yet) and poopy scooping....he does that once a week...if we are lucky :rolleyes

Rant away, i love my dogs, but i hate their fur! if i could keep them shaved year round and not feel cruel then i would. And now with a baby? i have heard them both growl at logan already... don't know what will end up happening....

dh's are really to blame, they bring the darn things home and promise to excercise them and stuff.... do they do it? nope.

Yet one more reason I prefer cats to dogs. Short haired cats don't shed (if they are combed at least once a week), you don't have to take them for walks and they use a litter box (no scooping poop out of the yard or missing some that you then walk in ). Even with all that, my cats have never been allowed on my furniture because I hate animal dander and fur on my furniture. I can only imagine what things would be like if I let Dh and the kids get the dog they want.

i don't like dogs either. Especially after being chased and chewed by monster dog for three years at our last place. Next time, your dh should consider a fish. And take care of his fish himself. I like to look at fish, but I am not a fish person. My dh takes total care of his fish. Thank goodness.

Liz you have ALL my sympathy! You know I am not a dog person either!

Don't you love how they make you the bad person???

I like dogs plenty so long as they stay outside and I never have to deal with them. I know there are plenty of wonderful dogs out there and I had one as a child but after our last dog and the HUGE holes (still there) in the back yard....nope no more dogs.

We had a dog that was a digger when I was a kid. I've never known one who digs to stop. Maybe if you are a professional dog trainer you can get them to stop. It didn't matter too much when I was a kid, because we lived out in the middle of nowhere on a farm where he could dig holes galore and it didn't matter.

I am so not a dog person either. It took us getting our cute, little, adorable precious Ginger (aka dog that is driving me CRAZY!!!) for me to realize that. I have already told you all of MY ideas.
Tell John I am deathly allergic to dogs so she has to be gone as well as every last lingering dog hair in the house. Nah, don't. I'm afraid he will tell me to not even come!!

Point in fact!!! This rant sounds like me with Oscar. Oscar has ruined it for me to ever have another dog again! DH doesn't feed him, doesn't comb him, doesn't walk him. He has since we have moved in this place picked up crap. He does that once a day now which is 30 days faster he did at the old place.

I am with you!

I hate dogs, too, Liz!

I know how you are feeling about the dog situation.
When I was with my ex, he went out and got this dog.Well ,Needless to say that it was me who had to clean up after it.Every morning when I got up,I had to wash my WHOLE kitchen floor. This dog chewed up my furniture, had huge sh!ts anywhere on the floor,we could just NOT train this dog. 4 months later I left my ex.Maybe the dog had something to do with it!
Never again! I don't hate dogs or anything,as long as it is not my dog.I don't like the smell of wet dogs or dog breath.
Same goes for cats.I will stick with fish!

Do you have a no kill shelter in your area? Then you can take her in without all the guilt, because they will find her a new home.

I like dogs but yours would drive me crazy!!! Our is an out side dog. He is on a run and has the whole back yard. He comes in at night and sleeps on his doggie bed in our room. He has had mayve 3 pee accidents in the 7 years we have had him and nover pooped in the house. Now we have had dogs before that were totaly oppisite so I know where you are coming from
