My BIL finally admitted that he is dating!
For those of you who don't know, my SIL (DH's sister) passed away on May 5, 2004 of cancer.
My BIL dated his wifes best friend about 1 month after she died and it blew up in his face. It's sad to say, but my SIL's best friend has always had a crush on my BIL and swooped in very shortly after her death and took advantage of his vunerability. He was not the nicest to her when things ended, but he was really messed up and I put a lot of the blame on her.
Today he let us know that he is dating a fellow co-worker. He brought her to my DH's cousins wedding in late September as a friend. They started dating soon after and are just now starting to tell people.
She is the sweetest young lady and I really like her. She has been so helpful and understanding with my BIL.
Today he gave my In-laws a Scrapbook that Mindy (the lady he is dating) and he put together of my SIL. It was such a wonderful scrapbook and there was a lot of time and effort put into it.
I can't think of too many people who would help their boyfriend put together a scrapbook of their deceased wife. She wanted him to do this, because she said she didn't want to forget her. He needed to preserve her memory.
She has been very open in asking questions about my SIL and has really tried to get to know her through Derek's memories and pictures.
I hardly know her and I already like her.
I hope my BIL can find happiness again and if Mindy makes him happy I wish them the best.
