What one thing is your child having trouble with in school right now?
What one thing are they excelling at?
Haley is having serious problems with reading comprehension. Every Tuesday she has homework where she has to read a story and then anwer the 5-6 questions at the end.
It takes her over 2 hrs to finish because she has to read it so many times. She reads the story all the way through once but then has to read the questions 1 at a time and reread the story until she finds the answer. She goes through the same process for every questions. And God forbid they don't directly tell the answer in the story because she has the worst time with questions that you have to use reasoning to answer.
I wish I knew something more to do for her because it is so frustrating.
Even though she has a hard time with the comprehension part, her reading is amazing. Earlier this school year, she got into Goosebumps books which is amazing because last year she was struggling through easy readers.
