Great People - Abraham Lincoln

Throughout our lives, we will encounter people that we deem to be successful or unsuccessful.

However, for many people, Abraham Lincoln, is one of the most successful and inspiring people there are.

Lincoln once said that if he had 8 hours to chop down a tree, he would spend 7 of them sharpening the axe. This philosophy resonated throughout his life.

In his life, Lincoln had many failures before he began to experience success.

In his younger years, he tragically lost his childhood sweetheart.

In Politics, Lincoln lost several key elections before he became President of America.

Lincoln's life was tarnished with failure, but, astoundingly, ended in great success. This is because he understood success and was driven up his ultimate goals.

From Lincoln we can learn valuable lessons. It is never to late to become successful. It is never to long to dream. As long as we are live and with purpose, we can achieve whatever we want to.

This week we will be looking at six great people and how their ability to master one simple skill changed the course of history. Politicians have a tarnished reputation of lying, cheating and manipulating. Abraham Lincoln, however, is famous for his honesty and his desire to govern America according to his highly upheld morals and ethics. Lincoln had the greatest teacher that any student could ask for. From failing so much in life he not only learnt how to succeed, but the value and responsibility that comes with it.
