where to trick-or-treat

Thread Starter
I am torn between decorating my own house and trick-or-treating in our new small neighborhood (I think it is important if you want to meet and be liked by your neighbors. I also just love to decorate and don't think I should if we won't be home for trick-or-treaters) and going out with friends like we do every year to a big neighborhood where I know Haley will have fun. (and I know that they are expecting us to go with them this year.) We have always done this in the past because we lived in an apartment.
I am sure that I am stressing about this way too much and it is no big deal but I don't want to let any one down.
Do ya'll stay home or drive to another neighborhood on Halloween?

We live out in the country and don't really know what we're going to do since no one lives within walking distance of us. We'll probably just stop by the grandparents and a few friends houses, though, since Alexander is so young this year.

As for your dilemma, maybe you could do both - go to your new neighborhood for a little while and then go with your friends (or meet them) to the old neighborhood where you usually go. That way you get to meet some of your new neighbors and see some of your old friends.

As far as decorating, I would do it whether I stayed home or not. Most of the fun in decorating, to me, is for myself anyway, so as long as me and my family enjoy it, I don't consider it a waste.

I hope this helped some!!

Dh is going to stay home and pass out candy. I am going with SIL and my neice and my son out in the neighborhood. I was thinking, if the weather is bad (it never is good for Halloween) maybe go to the Mall. We'll see.

We are planning to take Michael around the neighborhood

Last year we took Michael around the neighborhood trick or treating. We plan to continue that this year. Two years ago we bought candy, but since we live in a gated condo comunity there were no ghoulies coming to our place.

We plan on starting around 6 pm (at dusk) and return home by 8 pm then watch movies and order pizza! After Michael falls asleep, Tim and I will watch horror movies because we don't like Michael watching scary stuff on TV.

Michael won't be Elmo this year. Instead he'll be Spiderman for his grandpa Lombard who is recovering from Chemotherapy. His grandpa loves Spiderman and we felt it would cheer his grandpa up to see pictures of his grandson as Spiderman.

We go to my Grandparents neighborhood. It is a bit on the ritzy side, and it is very safe.
