I get out of the shower about 10 minutes ago to find Billy on the phone (He is NEVER on the phone). After eavesdropping for 5 minutes, he's apparently talking to some family member. This is BAD... You know, we haven't spoken to his family in well over a year... He doesn't sound angry though, but I had to run and tell my girlfriends! Ooh, he's getting off, I need to debrief!

Ok, here's the gist... His sister called to let him know that his grandfather is on his deathbed. I don't have a big beef with her, although since her parents support her financially, she refuses to talk to me. It was good that she called, Billy needs to see his grandfather before he dies, so I guess I have to find him a flight. I hope he stays at my parents' house, the thought of him staying at his family's without me makes me totally uncomfortable. Oh, and she warned him about some hokey letter his dad mailed off to us. God only knows what that freak has to say now.... CALGON!!!!!! I'm off to find Billy a flight for next week under a grand.

That is sad about his grandfather. That is good that he gets to go see him.
I totally know what you mean about not wanting him to stay at the home of the freaks. I am the same way.

Ok, we got him a flight and a car for $500. He REFUSES to stay with my parents by himself. Or use their car. Geez, man.... Anyway, the downside is he IS staying with his parents. I'd rather him stay in a hotel, but NOOOO.... Anyway, he's leaving Friday, so there goes Valentines Day. He isn't even aware of it, so I'm not going to mention it and make him feel bad. He'll be home late Sunday. His grandfather has been terribly sick with skin cancer than has spread everywhere and is in a lot of pain. He is 87 and this is the best thing. He's been fighting it for more than 3 years and he needs to let go.... Billy is not close to him, but he was named after him. Sigh..... I hope this is an uneventful trip......
