Cautiously starting to post

I'm not sure if any of you know who I am or not since I so rarely post, but I'm Rachele--the author of the miscarriage journal here at BabyU.

I had a miscarriage back in February at 10 weeks. It was extremely devastating especially since I was so thrilled to have a pregnancy journal here.

I found out last nearly 2 weeks ago that I'm pregnant again. I posted about it in my miscarriage journal and said the lines were light on the HPTs I took. I went for a quantitative beta hcg and my level was 24.68 on that Monday. Two days later it was 47.26, which meant it had doubled within reasonable time, but was still low. I was scheduled to go back again for another blood test on the following Monday. I was so nervous and anxious, afraid that my hcg might have dropped or not be rising correctly. In order to at least keep the same doubling rate, it had to be at least 252. I was THRILLED (to say the least) when the nurse told me my hcg had JUMPED to 517! I am so excited and happy to be pregnant again.

I do still have quite a few fears since I'm not yet as far along as I was when I had the miscarriage. I am, however, putting everything in God's hands. I was doing all that praying and finally felt that he was telling me it would do NO good if I didn't trust him to take care of things. That was when I felt a great calm and started to have total faith in HIM. That was also before I got my great hcg count!

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say how happy I am to be here!

Thank you all SO much for the congratulations! I'm so thrilled to be back posting as a "mom to be!" I'd love to start a new journal and as soon as I get the motivation I'll ask Dawn if I can! I am just so in shock about this!

I have my first prenatal appt scheduled for October 8th, so we'll see what the doctor says then. I'm so anxious to get to that appointment!

Rachele, Welcome back. I am so happy for you.

I know how nervous you must feel. Remember, I had a miscarriage in November of '99? Well, I am now weeks away from the delivery of my second baby. Can you believe it? I won't lie and tell you that you get over that nervous feeling. You don't. But once you pass the "critical" stage, it does get easier. I still think things can go wrong but I can't let my mind be consumed with negative thoughts. It's not good for me or the baby. So, on that, I'll say, be strong, positive and enjoy this pregnancy.

Congratulation

H Rochele

Congratulations and good luck. I had a miscarriage in May and was fortunate to become pregnant again in July. I am now 13 wks. i had bleeding for a while with this one but so far all is good.
My faith in God is the only thing that gotme through the first pregnancy and through the stress of the bleeding with this one. I have to pray for His strength. May God bless you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
