Do any of you shop the day after Thanksgiving?

Do any of you shop on the busiest shopping day of the year! I can't bring myself to shop on that day! I can't handle getting pushed around and I hate having to walk in a line for 5 minutes and only move 2 feet! So I stay home!

Are any of you planning those trips already? I won't be....Den will be hunting so I will not see him all day.

NO WAY! I did it last year only because everyone was advertising these great deals on girl's bikes, and that's what we wanted for Jess. I got to the store at 8am and all the carts were gone! I had to drag this huge box through the whole store, then stand in line for nearly an hour. I did manage to save about $20 - $30 off the bike, but I have to wonder if it was worth it!

This year .... it will all be done by Halloween, or done online. Period!

I do go shopping the day after Thaksgiving. It use to be me and my moe....nd now Peter comes along. It's not really to go Christmas shopping but just to get out there and have some fun. This city isn't the biggest around...and most people head to the bigger city an hour or so away.

If we find presents GREAT...but we just like the excitement. My mom and I have always done it...it's like what get's us in the hoilday mood. We even go shopping ON Thanksgiving. There's a few places open.

I guess that's why people call us crazy!!

In the retail business we call it Black Friday. Thank God I am not in it anymore.

I am a shopaholic so yes I do like to go out on that day although crowds give me panic attacks.

YES!!! I love that day!
Last year we were staying at the hotel (we had just moved) but I still got up and went shopping!!
I was able to find dh some button down shirts for $5 each and ties for $3 each. They were very nice and WELL worth it! He is spoiled and does not think twice about spending $30 or more for a tie!! Since he wears them every day it was a great deal!!!
I cannot wait til this year!!

I do have to say that I always try to leave the girls with some one---this is a day FOR ME!!

Elaine,

I was going to call it Black Friday but not sure if everyone did. I am assuming they do though.

I normally used to work....at a fast food place and I HATED working on this day. We got the shoppers first thing in the morning and when they were on their way home. That can sure put you in a bad mood

I didn't last year, b/c I was very pregnant and I just HATE large groups of rude people. The holidays should bring out the good in people, but on that day.........it's all out the window!!!! I WAS going to go this year to try and get a good deal on what I'm getting dh for Xmas, but I'm pg again and don't know if I want to fight the crowds w/ Bailey in tow.

My aunt and I used to go every year. We would try to be the first 100 people or whatever to get the free gifts. On Thanksgiving day we would lay out all the sales adds to plan our route so that we could get the most free gifts and get the best deals and be done by lunch. I don't think that either of us ever got very much of our shopping done but, boy was it a fun tradition. We just moved to Arizona though so I am trying to talk my friend into going with me since my family won't be here.

Our Thanksgiving is acutally this coming Monday Oct 8. I always wished ours was in November to that way I could put my X'mas tree up a bit earlier for family.
It seems like the American Thanksgiving is celebrated more than here in Canada. It is not a holiday I get to excited about.
We are going to my moms for dinner on Sunday and then Richs parents on Monday.
I know in the U.S the day after Thanksgiving is a big shopping day, and basically the start of holiday shopping.
Our biggest shopping day is Boxing Day, which is Dec 26. I dont think the U.S celebrates it though. I hated working the mall though, the people were crazy!!!

I absolutely shop the day after Thanksgiving. There is some thing about it that get me out of bed early that morning. Exspecially having kids it is exciting to see if you can be the one to run in and get the hot toy of the season. I love holiday shopping to me it is a full contact sport ( the pushing, shoving, and dodging people). I wouldn't miss it for anything.

I have some years but not for a while. I like the excitement but I tend to get a little impatient and sick of crowds. I remember going with my aunt to the mall in Knoxville, TN and we had to drive around and follow someone with a package in their car just to find a parking space. CRAZY!

I never have, but have considered doing it several times. I always chicken out because of what the crowds will be like - I just don't want to have to fight through them!!

No I do not shop after Thanksgiving. I use to work in retail when I was a college student and the crowds are terrible. Instead we attend the "Annual Lighting of the Tree ceremony" in our city. There are Christmas carolers and the lights in downtown San Antonio along the river walk are beautiful!

YES, YES, YES!! I love to shop! Me & mom used to go with my best friend & her mom since I met dh he now joins us at 5:00 am in line at the place with the best drawing or free gift with hot chocholate in hand (Isn't he sweet!) He also as of last year has been put in charge of my little man & fellow shopper. Jake loves to shop but not on a crazy day like that!

I have found some of the best deals...I always hit Marshal Fields for their stuffed animal, Mervyns, & Khols ALWAYS has their holiday stuff at least 50% off & I am a nut for Christmas decorations! I rarley find any Christmas gifts but always come home with lots of things for everyone! (I shop Christmas on Christmas Eve) Just kidding LOL! I'm not that crazy!
