You finicky Virgos have great affinity to Mercury, the thinking planet. Now, as Mercury squares off with deep, dark Pluto, your thoughts can skip right over the River Styx that separates this world from the Underworld. Freed from earthly logic, your thoughts can fly all over your subconscious. At worst, this is a total distraction from your day job. At best, you can discover new meaning in your life from your own personal mythic journey. Even if this tension makes you uncomfortable, the ride will be well worth it, for it will stir up enough psychic nutrients to last you a while.

You Virgos take great pride in your ability to analyze a situation with your practical form of logic. And you can get quite uncomfortable when your thought process is not performing up to your required level of efficiency. Today may be cause for some concern, for your brain is picking up a radio station that you don't usually hear. The thoughts that are now playing in your mind sound familiar in a strange way. And, no matter how hard you try, you cannot tune out this station. This, needless to say, makes you uneasy. Don't waste energy trying to figure it out. Just listen and learn.

You Virgos are always attuned to your key planet, Mercury. Now that Mercury, the trickster, is whizzing his way through fiery Aries, you may find it difficult to keep up with your own mental process. Your thoughts can somehow get ahead of your actions. Understandably, this can make you uncomfortable, since you'll feel as if you've taken mental shortcuts -- and you're not usually a shortcut kind of person. You want to cover all the details yourself. Worry not; this is just a passing phase. You won't gain anything by holding back. Even if this is contrary to your regular style, let it rip and deal with the consequences later.

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): Your dilemma today is the struggle between the large and the small. Normally, you gravitate in the direction of the small. Virgos like to focus on details. But now the Moon in Sagittarius is encouraging you to express your largest needs and your most grandiose desires. Of course, you won't do this. You might hold in everything that you think is inappropriate, but if you do, there is an emotional price to pay. Try to find a way to gently express your desires, even if you have to intellectualize them to make yourself feel safer.

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): Your planet, Mercury, is forming a tense aspect with Saturn-the-Tester. You are likely to feel resistance to what you say and this can make you rethink your current position on an important matter. But the resistance doesn't need to come from the outside. You could be your own harshest critic now. Too harsh. Although your ideas may be well thought out, you still could be hesitant to share them because you are afraid of having them rejected.

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): You are at the end of your rope and you just don't know what to do. There's just nowhere left to go that you haven't already been and nothing left to try that you haven't already tried. The good news is that you have a bit of metaphysical magic up your sleeves today and if you can let go of the ways in which you normally hold yourself back, you may just have a solution at the tip of your tongue.

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): You are being pushed out of your comfort zone now -- and part of your comfort is your logical and analytical mind. The practical answers that you usually have at your fingertips are now just out of reach. This is so unlike you that it can make you lose your rhythm as you go about the business of your day. This intellectual fuzziness does, however, have a purpose. You are being asked to move out of your logical mode and to rely more on your intuition. Drop the details, Virgo, and let the real Force be with you.

You'll learn what's happening, but probably not today, since cosmic fog has been added to the stew. Your precision mind can panic without its normal thinking tools. Get past your little freak out. If you do, you'll be in for a lovely surprise.

Pluto symbolizes our unconscious minds, and at this time you'll be able to use language to shine light into these hidden areas of your imagination. Think of yourself as the mythical Phoenix bird, which arose from the ashes of the ruins of destruction. Okay, it may not be total ruins, but anything that needs elimination or transformation can fit the bill. If you can visualize the creative forces of evolution working within your mind, then whatever difficulties you have faced can now be released.

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): You Virgos are picky when it comes to choosing what's important. As much as you value the highly discriminating quality of FM radio, all you can get right now is bad talk shows on AM -- and it's really driving you nuts. You may want to change stations or turn off the radio completely, but you don't seem to have access to the controls. It's time to practice your inner spiritual work. As you develop patience and compassion, yummy experiences will grace your day

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): Although you may be inclined to throw your regular caution to the wind, a friend of yours will have enough sense to remind you about what is important. Even if some things are not going exactly the way you'd like, you can make choices that will keep you on your chosen path. Flexibility is now more important than sustainability. If you can conjure the image in your mind, then it can become real. Believing is seeing. Can you get the visual?

VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): There are things you should be doing now, but it's unclear what the specifics are. This lack of clarity could be enough to prevent you from focusing your attention on where it could do the most good. If you aren't sure what to do first, remind yourself that several small steps are better than a large one. Tackle the jobs that you know you can complete. Leave the more complicated things for another day.
