Finding out Rules and Regulations for Homeschooling in your state

Different states have different regulations and parents considering or wanting to begin homeschooling should know the regulations for their state.

Currently about two-thirds of the states have specific laws authorizing and regulating homeschooling. In the balance of the states, homeschoolers may legally operate as a small private school or provide ‘equivalent instruction.’ The details vary considerably from state to state and opinions about the law vary from district to district.

Another great site that most parents use to find information on the rules and regulations by state is:

This is one that lists International Homeschooling
Laws and Support for U.S./ Canada/ and all other countries

Those are great sites!! You can also check with your local Board of Education for a homeschooling kit .. all states require that you be given all legal information if asked for it!
