Need help on what to feed?

Logan and Shaylee are now nine months old and we have just graduated them to stage three foods. So far so good. This morning I scrambled two eggs and gave each baby one along with banana pudding. They ate it all and their bottles too so that was a good sign. We are getting ready to go grocery shopping though and I don't have ideas for what else they can have. Can you guys help. The stage three is just like regular foods mushed up in alot of cases and I was wondering if you guys could please help me. Like what do you do for lunch? Spaghettios blended up? Or canned veggies blended it maybe? I need suggestions badly thanks!

I don't know if I can be much help, because Kate still loves breast milk best. I usually feed her chicken, turkey or fish and veggies. She really loves fish, so she eats a lot of fish. I also give her crackers for snacks. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help. I hope the other ladies have better suggestions. I know that some children are allergic to fish, so that's one to be careful on. Good luck!

I wouldn't even worry about blending soft thigns like that. You can give them cooked macaroni noodles and they should be ok.....you just have to kind of experiment with things like that at this stage of the game and see how they do with things.....Soft mushy things like really cooked noodles are good.......with things that are harder then yes you need to blend them up a bit, or cut them really small

Kyler HATED stage 3 foods. Wouldn't eat them at all!!
So, I went from stage 2, basically to "real" food.
If I remember correctly, Kyler would eat grilled cheese cut up in bite size pcs, noodles - (any kind, STILL a big hit. ), but I remember first we would just do elbows and sauce. He loved it. He would also eat vegatables if I cooked them enough and they were soft enough. (carrots, broccoli)

Yogurt, Canned fruit and Vegetables (try giving it to them in pieces and if they don't take it then mash or puree it a little, so it's still chunky).

Brandon refused to eat stage 3 food so he went straight to our food. Mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, meats cut into small pieces, veggies in small pieces. Pretty much whatever we ate, he would eat, just made for baby size.

With the exception of peanutbutter, any food you can mash against the roof of your mouth using only your tongue. Veggies and pasta should be well cooked(doner then what most adults usually like). Go light on acidy foods till you know if they cause a diaper rash. Most soups work well. Yogurt, puddings, and jello are big hits(the last one also sooo much fun to watch them try to get a hold of ).Everything should be about the size of a large pea. I would feed a bite or two of other messy foods and put the finger food on the try for them to learn to pick up, that way you know they are eating but they are still getting to learn to self-feed.

I don't have anything new to add to what the others have said, except that I agree with them. Have fun trying new foods!

Thanks bunches!

The ideas are great! I took canned sweet potatoes and one apple and cut it up in my Ultimate Chopper(absolutely love this thing!) threw in a little baby style apple juice and pulse 3 or four times. I put it in little containers for lunch today and Mom called me after lunchtime to tell me they couldn't get enough of it . Shaylee almost ate the spoon! It was a real hit! Hehehehehe! I put left over spaghetti in it for dinner and pulsed it too and they are lovin that right now so Mom tells me! I think I am onto something here and I even have left overs for another day! Not to mention it is soooooooo much cheaper! Thanks alot!

Rhyne eats anything that we do, we always just let her try our food and watched her to make sure she didn't choke or have any reactions.

I give my son pieces of banana, canned fruit in juice, pieces of cheese, pieces of healthy deli meat, melon, mashes potatoes, sweet potatoes I have microwaved, applesauce, and pretty much almost anything I eat.

When Joey was that age, he was on a completely vegan diet (no dairy, eggs, or meat), so I was always worried about him getting enough protein. One thing I found was that I could make a pudding by blending soft tofu and a banana. He loved it!

As for other foods, I have a little hand grinder that I used to grind up a little of our food for him. He pretty much went from Stage 2 foods to real food, too.
