Turkey hats

I have a really cute craft that I did with Richie and my nieces last year. All you need is construction paper, scissors, and glue.

Turkey Hats

First take a strip of brown construction paper and glue to another to form one long strip - it has to be long enough to fit around a child's head.

Next, cut out "feathers". I use green, orange, red, and, yellow. make them about 6 or 7 inches long. Mine look like long skinny ovals.

Glue one end of each to one half of the strip, so they will be at the back of the head.

Next, cut out a turkey head and neck. Mine is brown, and kind of looks like a circle on top of a triangle. I draw a face on, and attach a paper "wobble" (you know-that red thing that hangs from below their beak.) Also, I glue on a yellow beak.

Then, glue this to the other half so it will face forward from the front of the head.

Measure to fit the child's head and glue ends of strips together. Walla!! You have a turkey hat!!

The pictures of the kids wearing their hats around the actual cooked turkey was cute!!

It sounds like a cute little hat. I hope I can remember it again when Thanksgiving comes around. Thanks for the very cute idea!
