Day Camp

Are you sending your kids to day camp this summer? Swimming lessons? Regular camp?

The reason I'm asking is I found an art day camp at the community art center for 5 year olds and it looked like a lot of fun.

Haley will be going to a week long day camp late in June. Our church (and the methodist community) rented a real camp with a pool and cabins and stuff for a week to use. It is going to have a vacation bible school theme.

An FYI for all the parents of school age (and younger) that can't afford day camp but want to keep their children busy this summer...
Call around to all the local churches and find out when their VBS is being held. It is usually about 3 hours long, some are held in the evenings and some in the mornings. It is a great free way to keep your child active during the summer.

I had thought about sending Gavin to VBS because I always went and it was a lot of fun! I need to check around and see what they have here. I know the YMCA has day camp but it is like $135 per week and that is a bit much!

Around here we have the Durham Arts Council Day Camp and it costs $395 for a 2 week session plus the $20 registration fee.
I just can't afford that. I only paid $55 for 1 week to the church's camp.

Yep......VBS all the way for us

As for day camp, Jessica is going to Mexico as a missionary with our church this summer, unless life throws a wrench into our plans
