During the summer

What do you feed your school age child for lunch and snacks?

With Haley home I feel like I have to offer her a little more than Zach's usual rolled up turkey and cheese and cold fruit for lunch. Other than Chef Boyardee pastas though, I haven't come up with many ideas that both the kids will eat. I don't want to have to do a lot of cooking.

I agree completely, who wants to cook during the summer

Nicholas is very easy to please, as long as its not nutritional

We have had everything from hot dogs to sandwiches. We really haven't found anything that 'hits the spot' and is nutritional....wish I could be of more help, but we really are unhealthy eaters

We do a lot of Mac & Cheese and PB&J sandwiches. TJ actually loves cereal with milk, so sometimes Jessi joins him with that.

How about grilled cheese, or some lean pockets my kids eat this and they love it.

most of them we do already.. so i guess we have it all covered eh?

Both Gavin and Maddie love vienna sausages...just open a can and go! Gavin will eat ham sandwiches. Maddie is usually grilled cheese or chicken nuggets.

quesadillas or nachos, both extremely nukeable.

We do a lot of turkey and cheese sandwiches. Hotdogs and noodles, plain yogurt ( cheaper in a big tub) flavored with tang or koolaid powder. Generic dannon sprinklins we call it....lol. Tuna salad or egg salad sandwiches.

Pizza sandwiches, grilled peanutbutter, and some of what the other ladies suggested.

We make a menu each week and for the most part I just list what they are having and that is it but they also each get to add a favorite meal or just something in particular they want to have.

Em loves to have italian bread and butter sprinkled with a little sugar for a treat.

Pizza sandwiches??? Sounds yummy

Usually I am the same way and pack hot dogs and string cheese. Brittany will eat tuna salad. Speghetti'os, grill cheese, cheese sandwiches, PB & J, crackers and PB& J or even take examples from the lunchables. Pot pies.

I send apple sauce and carrots with peanutbutter newtons and juice too. Left over pizza from the night before is a big hit with them too!

Both of mine are HUGE chicken noodle soup fans. Ramen noodles too, with a little leftover meat chopped up and thrown in. I usually just give them a glass of milk and some fruit to go with it and call it lunch.

Drew and Ally both eats leftovers for lunch, like the rest f us. But about once a week I will do something special, like make a brunch with all the things they like - fried eggs, sausage, toast and hashbrowns. Not nutritious, but definitely yummy! Or I will pull a frosen treat out of the freezer, like a pizza or pizza rolls or chicken nuggets.

Othen than that it is sandwiches, fruit and crackers normally. Just whatever is in the house that they want to eat.

I love artichoke Vanessa! I make myself one for a treat every few days when they are in season. I've been eating them as long as I can remember but my kids and DH won't touch them.

We've ended up just eating a lot of sandwiches, Michalina's pizza bites, mac & cheese, and ravioli. Usually with some sort of fresh fruit or applesauce on the side.
Haley is just so dern picky (no hotdogs, no pb, no cold american cheese, almost no vegetables). I can't really blame her because I ate very similar as a child but it makes meal planning difficult.

Leftovers when there's any. Sandwiches or soup, too.

Kathy's here and she eats alot of fruit that I don't like, but Caitlyn LOVES. Cantoloupe, grapes, cherries. The fridge is stuffed right now, so the bowls of cherries and red grapes sit on the table while there's cups of white grapes in the freezer for them.

We have turkey or ham sandwhiches and we also have grilled cheese now and then BLT's with Cheddar bites. Mac & Cheese. Lunchable's if they are on sale. Pizza now and then frozen and white castle's. I think that does it.
