Me time for kids?

Do kids need "me time" just like adults? Do you give your child unstructured time to play or do as they like?

I think they do. I try to give my dd some me time every day without interfering in her play.

Alot of Lys's days are Me time I let her play and if she wants me then I'll play with her but alot of times she likes to just play by herself.

Ooohhh my kids get lots of me time... or atleast they time.

Although the majority of their day is unstructured play, I do think it is important for each child to have their own me time away from each other. There are certain times of the day that I don't allow Zach into his sister's room and other times that I am playing with Zach that I don't allow Haley to join.

Absolutely. The first thing we learned in our education classes was "Play is a child's work." They learn from it and they enjoy it. Jonathan gets a lot of time to play as he wants.

I let Kyler decide on if he wants "me" time or not. I do try to encourage it.

He'll play for a while by himself, then come ask me to play with him. Or visaversa.
I really love when I walk into the family and he's sitting on the couch reading a book to himself. It's really cute.

Oh yes, kids need "ME" time.

I personally would go insane without "ME" time, children are people first, children second, they NEED and DESERVE the same rights that we feel we need.

The kids play a lot with each other or amongst themselves, so I think it's a great idea.

Of course! And I find that Gavin and Maddie need time away from one another as well.
