Well we have a party to go to & I have spent sooo much time one Jake's little lion costume I have not thought of anything for me or dh! Did I mention it is a week from Saturday?? We don't go out much so I want this to be fun & join in with the other costume goers!

So I need lots of neat ideas - not scary cause Jake is so little.

I have seen someone do a black out fit with lunch bags stuffed with fake money and a dollar sign on the front and attached all over your body "Money Bags" Hah LOL!!!

Or a bunch of grapes - purple balloons --- can you tell I don't have a lot of time or extra cash??? HELP!

You can make all these from things around the house:

Hobo or Clown—baggy pants (one leg up and one leg down, maybe), mismatched shoes and socks, top and jacket or vest or tie that isn’t buttoned right and doesn’t match anything else you have on. Funny hat.
One year, I went to school in a sweat suit (“pajamas”) with a robe over it, slippers, curlers in my hair, and a facial mask on. The kids thought it was hilarious! Another time I had oversized footed p.j.’s, put my hair in pigtails (which was a job, since I didn’t have a lot of hair) drew freckles on my cheeks with an eye liner pencil, and carried a teddy bear and blanket around. I looked like a big kid ready for bed.

One teacher I worked with wore a black shirt and jeans, cut some ears out of felt and glued them on a black headband, made a fabric "tail" and attached it to the back of the jeans, and drew whiskers on her face and went as a cat.

If you wear a pink sweatsuit, you can attach a white pompom to the back of the pants or shirt, make some "ears" out of white felt, attach them to a headband, and be a bunny rabbit.

Is your hubby into tools or anything? If so, he could wear jeans, shirt, and tool belt and go as the "toolman" or something.

I saw this done with two pieces of posterboard joined by some yarn, I think. They made a "sandwich board" and put post it notes and memos all over it and made themselves a walking bulletin board. That way, if you get tired of it, you can take it off and have on your normal clothes.

Hmmm--My brain isn't functioning as well as I'd like, but if I think of anything, I'll let you know.

I didn't think about this before. But I saw it in a magazine and it was so cute. They did this for a kid, but it could be done for an adult, too.

If you can find a box that will fit around you--it doesn't have to be a refrigerator box or anything--just one that will fit around the top part of your body--you can glue plastic cups to the front of it, spray paint the whole thing a solid color, wear clothes that are the same color, and go as a lego block.

This isn't where I saw it originally, but here is a sight that gives some instructions:

Another cute site has other ideas for cheap and easy costumes, including a crayon:

I know that this is kinda cheesy but my mom went to a party one year in my dads pjs (flannel shirt and pants) with a face mask on and rollers in her hair wearing an old robe and fuzzy slippers. She already had everything she needed and got lots of compliments.
My dad went that year as a black eyed pea... he used fabric paint and put a big P on his shirt and balcked his eye with halloween make-up. Just one more I promise I went one year as Noahs Ark (also could be a zoo) I just put on blue sweats and tied stuffed animals all over me.
