In your 2nd pregnancy...

I'm not sure how to phase this question... so bear with me...

When you were pregnant with baby #2... how long during your pregnancy were you able to carry Baby/toddler #1?

When I first got pregnant I asked if it was ok for me to still pick up and carry Kyler. They said yes... and they would let me know if it became a problem as the pregnancy went on.
(Kyler is 27 pounds.)

Well, I've notice that it's getting more "difficult" for me to pick him up and carry him comfortably.
Is this about the "normal" time that would happen? Or do most people not have any "issues" until farther along?

I would say that i snormal. I don;t think there is any normal or not normal. I can cary Logan much better depending on his positioning. Does that make sense?

I refused to pick up anything that weighed more that a gallon of milk! After 2 m/c I wasn't willing to take the chance. I would say if it 's becoming uncomfortable, to stop now.

I agree. It will be hard for Kyler to understand but if it's uncomfortable carrying him, don't do it. You don't want to risk anything happening. Luckily Alexander wasn't into being carried around much when I was pregnant with Elizabeth so I didn't have this problem.

I think once you start getting the pudge it gets harder, so if it's really more uncomfortable then I would stop.

I couldn't carry Austin at all.. only because he was 40 pounds and i hurt so badly all over.

I would stop now too if it is already uncomfortable. And also with this much time for hime to adjust to being such a "big" boy it will be less upsetting when the baby is here and you have to carry him/her around. I actually did this myself with 2 months to go just so they were a little more used to not being carried and didn't feel so much anxiety when they saw the baby carried so much.

It is definitely normal Shari! I remember that it was earlier than I had wanted, when it became harder and harder to pick Sydney up. But I did it anyway. It never affected Livia in anyway, Sydney was just soooooooo heavy!

I did carry Maddie up until I delivered! I would not pick Gavin up though..too heavy. I just tried to not over due it but it was hard since I was in single parent mode most of the time....Maddie would be asleep in the car and could not leave her there etc. I would say if it hurts then do not do it!
