Would you be nervous about your child going away to camp?

It would depend on the camp and how old they were. I also think I would be more nervous about me and missing them. I went to camp for 7 summers as a kid and worked as a couselor for 3 summers and they were the best summers of my life. I cannot wait until my kids are old enough to go to camp!

Yes, I know I'll be nervous about them going to camp. In today's world, hearing so much more about children being molested than when we were growing up, it terrifies me to think of my children being somewhere that me or Billy aren't. But I know the day will come and we just have to have our children educated and prepared, as well as check out the camp as best we can.

YES!
But... I'm a paranoid freak when it comes to Kyler.

ha! I'm nervous about him spending the night at my sisters when I go into labor... never minding sending him to camp!

Yes and no like Meagan. I know camp can be a lot of fun and like Lisa said lots more worries in today's world then in yesteryears.

I was nervous about Alexander staying at my SILs when Elizabeth was born, but not for the same reasons. I was just worried about him being upset that we weren't there. But we did a few "trial" sleepovers before the big day and he did fine. In fact, he loved being with his cousins and didn't miss us at all. THAT depressed me more than anything!

Shari, I'd suggest a few sleepovers close to your due date, just to help Kyler. If he gets upset, you can go get him and take him home and hopefully after a few, he'll be able to stay all night. Al, as I said, never missed us at all so we didn't have to make a midnight run to get him, but it was nice having a night to ourselves before the new baby arrived.

That is a wonderful idea.

Yes I would be...I have a hard time trusting people I don't know. Esp when it comes to my kids!

I would be only because I have never been to camp. But if Brandon enjoyed it, I would be all for it. I think it is good for them. Not that I wouldn't miss him like crazy and worry about him constantly!
